Simple but dumb question about charging
Hello i have queries about charging and playing games in the same time. Its ok to do that or it's hurting the battery , overcharging / overheating ?
Is safe to play even if the battery is 100% and it is still connected to current like laptops or Sony phones ? thx

Yep, it's absolutely fine to play and charge. I do it nearly all the time with the more demanding games. It is my understanding the Deck has a feature which prevents overcharging to prolong the life of your battery.

while there are protections for over exerting/charging the battery, you still have to be careful with temperatures.

Try to avoid CHARGING while playing demanding games as this will lead to a lot more heat than usual. If it is charged and plugged in you will not see the same effect as if it is actively charging.

As long as you pay attention to heat and temps, you should be ok.
(if the deck is docked with the screen off and you want to play a demanding game while it charges, just keep an eye on temps  )

lithium polymer(LiPO), NiCad, and most all battery technologies tend to have issues if they get too hot.

If you're concerned about the temps while charging & playing @ same time, you can purchase a new charger off amazon (no lower than 30 watts). I have one that came with an Anker Battery pack. This works for doing the above & the Deck doesn't get as hot or display a slow charger warning. The other benefit is you can get a cable that is longer than the included charger's that comes with the Deck.

I would recommend no lower than a 60 watt unit. Steam deck needs 45watts but 60 gives a significant buffer if you have a lot of stuff plugged into your dock...
