Faulty Steam Deck R1 button

Anyone had issues with their R1 button?
Mine stopped working within 2 months of purchase. RMA done and initial process excellent. Sent to Valve Returns UK and waiting… not happy

512gb version. Thankfully Steam replaced it under warranty..

I had a L1 button go bad after a month. Already send it in to repair and got it back.
It's not a common occurrence but Valve have acknowledge faulty buttons do occur.
All electronics have some failure rate.

I think its terrible that they break after about a month, mine just broke and I've only had it 23

They don't. Sure, there are some lemons in the bunch with any mass product product but not every Steam Deck has this issue.

used mine daily for 4-5 moons or so not had 1 problem, most who have the deck don't even use these forums...so to come to that conclusion is mind boggling

I can’t fault Valve. They were on top of it and sorted a replacement. I think it was my luck and potentially a faulty batch?? Anyway it’s all sorted so very happy

The R1 L1 buttons seem to have a bad quality. I wouldn't call them broken on my deck, but the buttons do not register all the time when being pressed. Super annoying. Therefore I am not using them except for one time actions, like throwing equipment or throwing grenades. ADS is not possible. I hold the buttons, hear them click, but the button gets released quick.

i have no issues with my deck and i have even dropped it twice and have the 512gb version

I haven't had any more issues with the L1 and R1 bumpers.

This is my issue right out of the box. I was hoping it would clear up with use.

I've had mine (512gb) a few months but despite taking good care of it, my R1 button suddenly went out. Unfortunately this doesn't seem super uncommon.
