thanks but looking to read actual reviews like what you would be able to read from others who have product like reviews seen on a particular game page

Valve stopped letting users review hardware years ago on Steam. The last time was the controller. Even the Index doesn't have them.

Valve sees no value in providing reviews for the deck, which is sad in my opinion. The genuine user reviews on a product page hold the most merit for me. You'll quickly get a good impresison about a product, from a huge and diverse group.

Big mainstream review sites cannot compete with that. They are not unhelpful, but cannot deliver the honesty from a casual everyday user. Everyone has different demands on a product, and it would be great to see opinions from all different angles.

I think most of the online blog posts are relatively biased, and miss out a lot of points, both pros and cons about the deck. Ideally we would have a steam review page where everyone could share their opinions about the device.

Really depends on how far you spread your research. A couple of them, yeah... I remember someone saying "you can't spell 'ignorant' without 'IGN' and I don't disagree". "Kotaku: the place where journalism goes to die" is a proverb as well. But dude, there's just so much good journalistic stuff out there, honestly covering it from different angles. I ain't sayin' there was not a heap of trash but there's good stuff out there!

That's true but, I'm not necessarily looking for that perfect in depth, journalistic review.

I prefer short, concise reviews from everyday users. Similar to amazon reviews. You can get straight to the point, and most of them are far more critical.
