Battery full at 99%?
Hi
My deck is never charging to 100%. Only 99%

Bug or feature?

Once it hits 100% the steam deck starts to 'drain' the battery in order to protect the battery.

Mine does go to 100% but the last 1% takes a long time, probably 15-20min.

Full charge basically floats between 99 and 90 %, in order to avoid useless cycles when plugged to the wall. Also this is the reason you should keep it plugged if you can, while using it (for example) at home.

Yup as everybody said its a feature, because they EXPECT plenty of people to leave it plugged in 80% of the time, as their home computer.

I remember how quickly I ruined my old laptop battery because I would leave it plugged in 24/7 since I always, and exclusively used it at a dedicated desk. I dont think it had any kind of smart charge settings (this was in like 2010, and it was budget at the time)
