Steam Deck

Firefox, Desktop Mode, "Upload a file" not responding.
I'm using Desktop Mode, trying to upload files through Firefox.

Expected result: Press "Upload a file", file browser pops up
Actual result: Nothing happens.

Is it just me or does this happen to other people too?

Thanks!

Works fine in Chrome, can upload files no problem. Guess I'll just use that for the time being.

Sounds like a SteamOS bug, I'd report this in the bug report section

Maybe they will find out it is a FF bug in the Flatpak environment, not impossible

Maybe it has something to do with Flatpak[www.flatpak.org] package sandboxing, which is the format Firefox comes in and it might prevent some access to system level resources, like access to filesystem. You can try opening Discover and installing Flatseal. You can than use it to check permissions for Firefox flatpak.

Turns outs it's a strange "feature" not a bug.

That does it. I can drag and drop files as expected, but only if they are dragged from the Downloads folder. As per Flatseal, Firefox only has access to the Downloads folder.

If I try to add more folders access, when reopening Firefox, it is treated like a whole new users session. All the history, bookmarks, etc are completely gone in the new session.

Really strange feature. But thanks for helping me figure out how to work around it. 👍
