Screen Saver for Desktop mode?
I have looked and looked. I can't find any screensaver apps (flatpaks or Steam apps) to use when in desktop mode. yes, I know I can make the screen go blank after a set time. I am looking for eye candy screen savers. Wallpaper engine does not work on the Steam OS. Has anyone found something that works?

VLC looping videos is not an inactivity time based screen saver. So far the only option I have found even slightly useful is the KDE lockscreen option in Steam OS where you can have it play a slideshow while locked. (inactivity timeout enabled) but even to use this Steam client must be closed as it prevents sleep or screen-locking while active. Seems to me to be a ripe market for someone to write a really nice Steam OS screensaver app. or maybe someone could port Xscreensaver or similar applications to flatpak to use with Steam OS.

I was looking for the screen saver mode that I can’t find. Which is annoying. If Im on paused or down loading the game (which it takes a while to download) I’m worried about screen burning. What I usually do if I’m on paused or downloading. I lower the brightness down. Not sure if that helps or not. I’m hoping that steam will update the system to have a screen saver mode.

This thread was discussing Desktop Mode. In Desktop Mode, the screen can blank while your downloads continue. It doesn't show images but does blank the screen. In short, if you are concerned about burn in (which you shouldn't be), download your games in Desktop Mode and it will auto shut off the screen after the timeout.
I've been wanting this ever since I got my deck, and not for any technical reason. Yea I got the OLED version, but it spends 90% of it's time docked to my 60" tv in desktop mode. Yea I can do slideshows on the dock or tv, but screen savers are just fun! Y'all remember the flying toasters?

Personally I can't think of a good reason to not include such a basic feature.
