The patch will come probably come in Proton - Experimental from Valve
But to note this is not Valve's fault but EA failing to make the game install the proper dependencies, Valve is just here to save you from these noobs at EA
It's not that EA is unware of the Steam Deck, they just don't care. Valve cannot solve that problem.
You should go and voice your frustration with EA.
They can release a fix for it to run under proton / wine.
Well there is no places at EA, Epic or GoG, where people can speak openly about there problems.
Entitled?! I payed for all these games! So, yeah I should be able to play them! Has nothing to do with being entitled...
I bought mass effect before steam deck existed
I don't need anyone to tell me what games I should or should not buy or what games to like or not. EA ain't going anywhere...
You don't have to forget:
Proton and therefore Steam Deck is Valves own platform. The "Verified" badge is Valves own thing, no contribution from devs/publishers is involved in this. The devs/publishers *can* consider Valves first checkout, adjust their games and let it check through Valve again, but in the end they don't have to. If the game doesn't officially support Linux/Steam Deck, it's up to Valve to ensure, the verified badge reflect the truth.
