both on steam os and on windows 11.

the cable I use works fine with my other hardware and both of my displays have nigh perfect gradient rating and show no issues when connected to other hardware.

instead of a smooth gradient I see visible rings and stripes...

I only experienced heavy color banding in games through 3rd party programs like Lutris, but haven't noticed it anywhere else. Can you show some screenshots?

so does this only happen on the external displays? does the steam deck's actual display do that?

if its only on external displays then how are you connecting to them? usb-c to usb-c cable? or are you using hdmi or display port cables with some usb-c adapter or dongle? if so, and the cable is not the problem, then perhaps the dongle/adapter is?

I'm not sure why you are finding that funny. Support is going to require a screenshot or video if you go that route so it's the next logical step to try to show everyone what's happening.

bruh if I take a screenshot or screen-recording, you won't be able to see anything because your device has no issues and taking a photo of the issue wouldn't help me get closer to a solution considering you can fire up any browser and search engine of your choice and look it up...

there is seriously no difference between colorbanding... they are all the same and yes this is hilarious af...
I realize that this thread is 2.5 years old at this point but did you manage to figure a way to get rid of the color banding.

It is visible but not too bothering on the deck internal screen. However when docked to a TV, the color banding's circles are very obvious on gradient color.

I am hoping a setting can address this.

Create a new thread. Necro old thread that does not have any answers does not help.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
