1 hour battery? Are you kidding me?
there's no point in me owning a portable gaming device when i can only play games for 1 hour. WTF?

did you try the tuning options under the battery section of the ... button? You can extend the battery thru frame rate limiter, lowering the TDP of the processor, & the frequency of the GPU there. The FSR scaling can help as well.

Battery limitation has been known for ages. You had lots of time to cancel your reservation. There are ways around it like carrying high capacity power bank in a backpack or playing older games or indie games.

Ehhh, which game were you playing? Metro Exodus on the default settings with no TDP lowering should last around 3 hours. Cyberpunk 2077, on the other hand, returns a maximum of 1.5 hours playtime.

Keep in mind that the steam deck can pull a very max of 32W of power I personally don’t care about the battery life because at least I understand why it is so bad

Into the Breach on SD battery will run 7 hours and 35 minutes. Void bastards 3 hours 45 minutes. Dishonored the same. Battery hungry games will drain battery in 1 hour 30, 45. Some titles even in 1 hour 20. I was just like you but then I bought powerbank and all is good.

It was not 2-3 hours. It is all over in every review. Demanding titles can drain it in 1 hour 30. Major outlets tested this on Horizon Zero Dawn.

When near a plug, yes.

However, try limiting to 40Hz/fps. 40 does seem to be a good balance between performance and battery life (as well as heat).

yes there is and it has way more if you played other games, max 3hours almost

Unfortunately, that's not going to be with 'every' game. The playtime, as you are discovering will be highly varied based on the game and the configuration of said game.

Yes, I feel you. I mean valve initially said 8 hours but nobody managed to get 8 hours out of it. I read hundreds reviewes before I completed my purchase and I knew that battery is SD biggest limitation but I knew how I will make the most if it. If you cant get use out of it and it sounds like you got Deck to play AAA games, battery life will be poor. I think it is time to sell it for a profit on Ebay.

Valheim is not a triple A game, its the only game ive tested the battery life with so far. looks like i wont be able to play it at 60fps
