Steam deck freezing in main menu?

Yo
I just recently unbox the steam deck then took 2 hours to install a couple of games. no worries there.

Soon after I tried to boot up Yakuza 0 and the game freezes after 5 seconds.
For Rocket League, The screen stays black from start up but can hear the music from the soundtrack.
Anything I could do or do I have a decfective unit?

Steam deck is updated to the recent software update as of 7/24/2022
I have also ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with the Proton and selected 5.13 sumn and it let me play yakuza for like 30 seconds before it freezes.

From playing and restarting i notice theres a triangle constantly flickering on the left side of the screen.

Have you checked for updates in the settings menu? I've had this a couple of times over the course of about 3 weeks, nothing consistent. I usually sleep and wake the device to fix it.

Well before I even played a game I have updated the deck to the latest software update.

For RL, you have to use proton. I would try the same for Yakuza 0, but check ProtonDB if setting it to proton experimental doesn't fix it.

download your smallest game (probably among us) and see if it also black screens

if you can hear game audio then it might be as simple as turning off fullscreen.
this happens with some games

Surprisingly among us works just fine but im not a child.
