Removal of Non Steam Games
I tried and didn't care for emu-deck. I cannot find any way to remove the game links from the steam library, and there is quite a few of them. I could individually remove them. Is there a file that Steam uses that I can delete and have this clear all lists?

afaik any "non-steam game" or app you add to the client, and probably the deck, can be only removed manually, one by one.

if you want to give another shot to "emu-deck", better use lutris to easily install, remove and configure non-steam games, but also steam games that you were unable to run directly throught steam.

in lutris you also have to manually remove the games, but its as easy as right click + remove only link in lutris and remove pboth the link and rogram files.

My issue was that I didn't realize how it populated the library. Emulation isn't a top priority. I have always had some sort of box plugged into a TV. As an all-in-one solution, what the Deck has is inundating. My last "MAME" pc had 102 games running from "AttractMode" frontend. I am glad I didn't point the deck to my network drive that has more than a few TB of things it would have cataloged and added individually to my steam account. I would have reinstalled the entire OS lol.

EmuDeck has options for adding only systems instead of each game, and an option for EmulationStation which is the same front-end used by RetroPie and has various themes. I wouldn't want 600 individual games either lol.

That said I'm fairly sure there is a folder somewhere in the Steam subfolders that contains all the non-steam entries. I don't know where it is located on Deck
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

This is great information! My solution at the time was to reinstall the OS, and in the past few months I did sell the Deck off. As cool of a piece of hardware it was, it didn't fit my needs.

This solution is now out of date with the newest version of emudeck. Does anyone one know how to remove the rom non steam app entries?

If you go into Desktop Mode, and open up Steam, go to the library and you can select multiple games in the list with Shift+click and then right click and Manage -> Remove selected Non-Steam Games.
Even if you have installed games through Steam, it'll skip over those.

My solution for this was really silly. Turns out my duplicate non-steam games were actually streamable games from my other devices. So I simply turned off in-home streaming on the other device and now the duplicates are gone.

After adding thousands of roms, deleting thousands, and not having the ability for the rom manager to delete the shortcuts to the deleted roms, i, too, sought this answer.

The solution:
Delete the three files with "shortcut" in the name that can be found here
[Steam install dir (on steam deck that's home/.steam)]/steam/userdata/[your user number]/config

After restarting steam, all your non-steam shortcuts will disappear. Enjoy!
