Everytime i´ll start discover i do get that errors and am not able to download any software (Chrome etc.):

AND:
"Error updating appstream2: No such ref 'appstream2/x86_64' in remote flathub; Error updating appstream: No such ref 'appstream/x86_64' in remote flathub"

Sometimes happens. Basics first - try restarting the deck - that worked for some people when nothing else would and it's pretty fast.

That error is there since i got my steam deck 4-6 weeks ago. Since then i did restart it multiple times and i did activate (and deactivate) the beta-version aswell. Nothing has changed

Option 2: You could try this, obviously that's only if you're comfy with the command line and this does break "the don't use command if you haven't researched it" rules but you've had this for weeks so this is a Hail Mary pass."

that did solve my problem! Thank you very much.

For anyone having the same trouble, heres your fix:

I. In your Discover go to settings and delete both flathub and flathub-beta
II. click on "add source" and add: https://dl.flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo

that should fix it.

Great - thanks for the feedback!

Such an odd thing to happen but at least we seem to have a dependable solution now.

Got my steamdeck yesterday and immediately had this issue, this fixed it until I went back on today. The same error occured again, any idea what could be causing the issue to reoccur?

I removed the flatpak added the new one and its still an issue “Aborted due to failure (while downloading http://ciscobinary.openh264.org/libopenh264-2.2.0-linux64.6.so.bz2: Error resolving”ciscobinary.openh264.org": Name or service not known)

Unacceptable, this has essentially bricked the device for me. First unit died after a week of use and now the new one gets a variation of this every time.

This fixed it, at least for now, thanks.
