Good deck headphones (3.5mm jack)
Hey all,

I thought I would ask whom are using the deck with headsets, what are you using?

I am using the Xbox one stereo with a dodgy wire so it’s fun and looking for a new headset that must use the jack outlet and not a USBC, so what do you all use or recommend?

I will be using the HyperX Cloud Revolver once my Deck ships. It cost just under $100 on sale and sounds very good on the computer. No buttons for volume on the 3.5mm part of the cord though.

I would second this. Anything from HyperX has been great quality for past few years.

I have the same HyperX Cloud II since at least 4 years and it's been a blast, I love the audio signature on this!

Look into some audiophile headphones. When at home I'm using the Hifiman HE400SE ($109) and when on the go I use the Moondrop Aria IEM ($80). If I'm wanting a mic I use the Moondrop Chu IEM ($22)with in line mic. All are available from Amazon and with audiophile grade you'll get a much better sound stage and near pinpoint imaging that can beat out the quality of just about any gaming headset.

If budget is in mind then probably the best thing for gaming at a low price is the Koss ksc75. The base version is $20 and the version with the mic is $25 but they will give you a much larger sound stage than anything advertised as a gaming headset for under $100 and the imaging is superb. They lack a lot in bass but make up for it in the details of things such as footsteps or a creature sneaking up behind you.

However my personal preference right now is the Hifiman they just are not very portable. I also prefer an IEM when out just because they are great for filtering ambient noise with foam tips and are very portable with the Deck.

I was looking at the HyperX Cloud II but then that would mean I have to use without the USB section and the dock only?

To much work man, just want to plugin a headset without any extra and play away without extra money spent and not needed.

I use a pair of Westone W40s that I had laying around. I use them with the 3.5mm jack but they aslo came with a bluetooth cable.

The usb and dock are one piece. The 3.5mm jack connects into the dock for audio controls. You would have a usb with a audio controller on the other end just laying around if you don't have another use for your headset beside the steam deck.
