The newer HB0603 or the HB0602?
I'm using JSAUX HB0602
If working before, there's always a possibility of a regression in the kernel module for device's chipset. So, some investigation is order. (I don't have one to test with. I use Pine64 docks - Pine64 is a Linux focused Open Hardware "community company".)
In Desktop Mode's Konsole, you'll need to run the command `lsusb` and `lspci` on both models.
* JSAUX HB0602
* JSAUX HB0603
You'll looking for the Ethernet controller entry which should say something about the make and model.
If you need to dig deep, you'll need to try the following commands in Konsole with each dock to compare their differences. lshw and hwinfo may not be installed. I know dmidecode is as I've run it before on the Deck.
sudo lshw -class network -short
sudo hwinfo --network --short
sudo dmidecode | less # then navigate to the networking stuff
I have a strong suspicion JSAUX will be using a Realtek chipset for networking (not uncommon). Realtek has a notoriety in the Linux circles as they tend not to be terribly Linux friendly. Many Debian/Unbunt/Mint users must use a community PPA to get Realtek networking chips working.
Good luck. Keep us posted. Everyone wants to find a reliable Dock Stand. Cheers.
