Saint's Row (2022) running?

Hey guys

Did anyone manage to get Saints Row (2022) running?

I have the Epic Games Launcher running just fine thanks to Lutris, played a couple of EGS games in the past, but Saints Row just refuses to run :(
I get the launcher starting, asking me if i want DirectX 12 or DirectX 11 (doesnt show the Vulcan option for some reason, as it does on my pc), I choose one, it stays for a bit "thinking", and then it just closes :(
Tried running the latest Proton (7.04), Experimental, and ProtonGE7-30, aaand still nothing :(


Anyone got any suggestions, please?

No, the game runs through Epic Games Launcher. Used Lutris to install EGS, and then EGS to install Saints Row.

Not broken, just morbidly woke, sadly... But not that broken, I've already played it on 2 different desktop pcs just fine. It's mainly SR4 graphics , with SR4 gameplay, but somehow quite freakin' demanding, for some unknown (crap optimizarion) reasons.

I see OP is into self punishment lol. I’m at the point where I stick to playing the oldies primarily (except for a few releases that seem to stick to the tried and true quality/story telling). A lot of the new remakes/releases have no soul. I’m finally playing RE2 remake and Biohazard on the deck. I’m happy with them both so far. Anyhow, I hope you get it figured out!

While i do agree some newer games are meh, i dont like generalizing it that way.
I buy and play all the new games, and even if they're bad, at least I can say why they were bad, instead of just believing all the crap on the internets, and every supposed reporter's opinion (which rarely fit with mine).
Spiderman remake that launched last week had plenty of soul and fun, for example ;)

It would be better to run it through Heroic Games Launcher rather than Lutris. I tried it there, but it also doesn't work. I even asks Saints Row support if they would help with the Steam Deck and they said no.

Your best bet would be to file a bug with Wine devs and play on GeForce Now in yhe meantime, with the caveat that the game on EGD doesn't support cloud saves so you wouldn't be able to play somewhere else later if it starts working.
