Steam Deck

Been concerned with the fact they use FedEx
Friend of mine just said his deck somehow got shipped to the wrong address a mile from his house, mine had a barcode replacement yesterday at around 7 and like 4 hours ago had a "unexpected delay" in Chicago Illinois of all places lmao, Whos ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bright mind thought partnering with FedEx was a good idea? and whos unmatched genius said "Lets have all of our products including the deck be shipped in a black sleek box with the name of our company and the name of the product RIGHT smack dab in the middle"

Mine was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but it's just been sitting in Carol Stream, IL. I live in Indiana and could literally just drive and get it if I knew where it actually was. FedEx tracking is notoriously unreliable.

Mines in Chicago as well. Been there all day. Valve really dropped the ball with this one. So many thefts because they don't know how to use discrete packaging. Using the worst parcel service known to man because FedEx doesn't actually care at all. I've had tracking numbers from FedEx that were for packages for other people. They're the worst shipping company on earth. I mean how stupid can you be? Wasn't there anyone who spoke up and said "hey Gabe, how about we don't plaster the box with a very recognizable companion cube for such a hot ticket item?" I'm so let down, I don't even expect to get mine. I'm expecting issues at this point, because of the display of sheer incompetence on Valve's part...

Im starting to lose hope with the fact i'll ever even touch mine as well, 7 minutes into chicago when it arrived there was already a problem with the barcode, and hours later something happened, god knows what because they wont say delayed the shipping out of chicago and to the next facility. My deck is SUPPOSED to arrive on the 24th, at around 5:00 PM and who knows how badly FedEX will screw me over within now up until that point. I'll be sure to sit on alongside the street and make the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ deliverer places the thing in my hand if it still exists at this point

I just don't understand why they had to use FedEx when USPS exists, it's cheaper, and this stuff wouldn't have happened!

The world may never know, I've been reading posts all throughout the past year about how badly FedEx has screwed people over with their steam decks yet Valve is continuing with zero response to the matter. I say why not defund FedEx and wipe em off the planet. What good have the brought anyone other than major inconvenience and lackluster service.

I've worked for both FedEx and UPS and, UPS is marginally better. You get paid better. The facilities are clean. The loading docks have giant massive fans. FedEx smelled like rotting fish, they pay minimum wage, and management is non-existent. Both only care about throughout but at least at UPS they take things seriously. Everything at FedEx is treated so carelessly and everything is a joke to them. S**ual harassment, "haha it's just a joke relax cutie". I'm not looking for pity at this point, but it's just a stark example of how things are handled there. The machines are always broken and dust covered so the lasers never read anything. They jam up because they're never serviced. At least at UPS everything worked the way it should and you got treated with cold indifference. UPS was quiet, militaristic, and the whir of the machines was the only sound broken only when numbers were called out. At FedEx? Everyone yells and laughs and is apparently having such a good time smoking pot instead of working. They opened a box of clothing and put on a dress and danced around with someone's parcel before ripping it, they then taped it back up and sent it off like it was no big deal.

I knew FedEx was horrible but i never knew what really went on in one of their facilities, That's absolutely putrid and brings me back around to the biggest question of all, How in the ever living hell is FedEx still around, years and years of miserable performance yet they persist to ruin more and more peoples days by the growing second. If they're ripping up packages while stoned out of their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minds wearing someone's clothes, who knows what FedEx employees have been doing with Steam Decks that went "missing" and never saw the light of day.

Yeah me too after hearing the horror stories about how Steam Decks were stolen. However me and my family has never had any major issues with FedEx delivering packages in the past. We got our packages. I think it depends on location whether or not the the facility or the drivers are incompetent.

Everybody is a boss until they read that their packages has been shipped with FedEx.

I'm having mine being held at my local delivery location so I can drive in and get it with my id.
fender178 Aug 23, 2022 @ 11:22am
Well my fears were for not because my box came untampered with and the package was complete.
