Steam Deck

Steam Deck

Is there a list somewhere, that can tell you how long the Deck will last playing a game on battery?
Just wondering.

Average time according to record is 8 hours of play.

Not really because it depends on your settings in SteamOS and game settings itself like limiting FPS, limiting TPD or quality settings in game.

Every game is different, it depends how much power the game draws. The Deck itself will give an estimate based on its current activity.

And every gamer is different for how they want to run the game, some may limit fps, where some may go for bling, so a list wouldn't really be feasible.

Yeah the Steam Deck is like a Laptop in a sense. It depends on what games you are playing with it. Everyone is different so millage may vary.

I would say anywhere from 2-5 hours for ~90% of its battery. And you really gotta be playing a low-fi game without wifi or bluetooth to get over 4 hours. 3.5ish hours of the old Lego Star Wars is a good 70% of the battery, and that's with the wattage locked to 4 watts and the gpu to only 400 or 600 mhz, and both run ~43c with the fan on. Which is basically low-power mode

most demanding AAA games will get you about 1hr 30min of battery or less.

Average is 8 hours lol.
This is why you should never ask a serious question regarding anything technology related on a forum created specifically for that item.
Because they're populated with brain dead fanboys.

I have yet to see or find any documented footage or instances where a single Deck has crossed 7 hours

even at limiting everything to its fullest, airplane mode, an playing a lowfi pixel game at 30 fps, I was hardly about to scratch past 6:30, nearly draining the battery fully, down to 4%

Thanks for all the input guys, probably should've known there wasn't a definite answer, what with all the power options & whatnot
