Steam Deck

Major annoyance with Steam Deck mouse button mapping on Desktop
I am cheesed off because all I want to do is to be able to use the track pad for mouse movement on the Desktop and use the shoulder buttons as the left and right click respectively.

After having the Steam Deck for about three weeks and hunting all around forums I have come to the conclusion that something this obvious is bloody impossible.

I DON'T want to press the Steam button, hold, and then press a trigger. That makes no bloody sense whatsoever and just messes up my workflow.

So if there is a way to remap the mouse buttons for the desktop would it bloody kill Valve to make it clear??

This has really ruined my experience with the Steam Deck because that is ALL I have been doing with it for the past three week - FINDING OUT HOW TO GET THE MOUSE TO WORK CONVENIENTLY FOR ME!!

This is frigging ridiculous.

Yes you can. open up desktop steam and go into the settings then under the "controller" tab theres a option selection called "Desktop Configuration" it may take a moment for the window to open so if everything freezes dont panic.

(thanks to Brohands McSmooth for showing me this)
