UK Delivery issues? (with Evri/Hermes)
I bought my Steam Deck, 27/08, shipped 29/08, Evri expecting the parcel on 30/08, Evri gets the parcel on 1/09, and no update since.

Have been talking to others in UK that are also stuck on this, the delivery with Evri says "Next day delivery" but of course that was 4 days ago now.

There is no way to contact Evri. Has anyone ♥♥♥♥♥♥ their steam deck from ordering last week in the UK?

Also recommend sending an email to the Evri CEO, email can be found here: https://www.ceoemail.com/s.php?id=ceo-9539

In the email, be polite, explain your issue with as much detail as possible, including references like your tracking number, address, etc. Try to be concise, someone from the executive team or support should email you back or call you on a private number to investigate.

Once you've waited a while, and have messages from Evri, forward onto Steam via a support ticket and if it's lost or stolen, they'll send you a replacement.

So today marks my 8th business day waiting for the delivery and as expected it didn't show up and of course the tracking is still being the same as 04:40 on 3rd Oct.

I've managed to get a reply from EVRI admitted mine is "mis-sorted" at the local depot and promised to investigate it, then of course, with all the information they asked for provided, they went radio silent.

I also have replied to my ticket on Steam today telling Valve what EVRI said and remind them it has already been 8 business days since the parcel is dispatched. Let's see how long will I have to wait again until I get another response from Valve.

Oh, and I wrote some long message to Linus on Twitter just now. I hope he does read it and consider giving Valve a shout on his channel. It's not just about me but I hope everyone can receive their long awaited Deck asap.

The date you mentioned is really interesting as I ordered a pair of Hiking boots last Sunday 2nd October and the Evri Tracking has been stuck on 3rd of October for my boots the last 8 days as well. And that item is in the UK not abroad, eight days so far to deliver a item within the UK lol.

I was lucky, I received my Steam deck via Parcelforce before the strike action in August before Evri took over deliveries. I am going to avoid any retailer who uses them as a courier from now on because it looks like I will be contacting them this week with a complaint as it seems it is not just Steam Decks going awol.

I hope everyone will eventually get their Steam Decks, Valve / GLS need to use a different courier Evri / Hermes are Garbage.

This is the thing, what impact is it having on Valve's day to day business? Probably none. In fact it is likely to cost more to solve it in monetary terms than it does to mitigate the individual cases.

One thing I would say though is that the many cases where multiple Decks have been stolen by Evri suggest that it is maybe a more widespread problem, but who knows?

I work for a company many times the size of Valve and I know that our legal and procurement departments would have nailed GLS/Evri to the wall as soon as it became apparent there was an issue. Reputations are difficult to build and easy to destroy.
I've seen a couple of more recent posts from people saying theirs are being shipped by Parcelforce, though it's hard to confirm that. Anyone had one shipped in the last couple of days?

If they do go back to using Parcelforce I'll be less worried about a replacement being sent out. Mine is almost certainly stolen or on eBay.
Steam have finally confirmed they're sending a replacement. Unable to change the courier though, which is slightly annoying.

Hopefully this one turns up and I get tracking updates from Evri. Not sure how long I'll have to wait now reservations have ended as well. I'd like to hope I get priority as I ordered over 2 weeks ago.

Edit 1: Steam support have also confirmed they're aware of a wider issue with Evri and are looking into it their end. Whether this means they'll start using a different courier remains to be seen.

My second steam deck is being prepared. Fingers crossed this one doesn't go missing after leaving GLS!
Well I've got a steam deck docking station on the way and GLS are using parcel force instead of evri. Thank God for that. I never want to go through the horrible experience I had with evri for the steam deck delivery.

Thanks Dnc, it's been a struggle but I'm feeling confident. My Deck is currently in Memphis TN awaiting a FedEx flight to the UK.

It says a lot about Evri that I'm more confident that I'll receive my Deck tomorrow from 4000 miles away than I would if it was sat in my local Evri depot 20 miles away....

You cannot believe the beam of a smile that spread across my face as I read this. I'm beside my hospital bed after some serious surgery hoping for the go-ahead to send me home to my loving deck. Oh, and my wife and son.

I've been on tenterhooks with your story in particular for some reason, and really hope this is a significant change in fortunes for your Deck Tales.

It's a silly thing at the end of the day as the Deck is essentially a toy, but it makes it even more frustrating that having something like a Deck shipped to your address should be a trivial exercise, not months of back and forth and the frustration of seeing terrible behavior from the likes of Evri going unanswered.

I'll let everyone know how much better my genuine American Steam Deck is than the EU ones ;o)
Unfortunately I am in the same boat as many of you - Evri tracking has been delayed on the 8th with no update since.

Could someone with experience tell me when Steam's 8 business day policy for customer support begins? Is it from date ordered, date dispatched or something else? Cheers.

Thanks - that would certainly be appreciated. For a while there, especially when I was still waiting a date for surgery, where there was a mini race between my Deck delivery and my abdominal surgery. Thank goodness the Deck won, I 'very already had enough enjoyment to anticipate it.

Hush your mouth! Playing around and yes "TOYS" have been behind many a success story that gas meant more to the world than pushing a biro does. This gives me hope they've gone back to using Parcelforce for decks now as well.
I have just heard back from Valve that they will be sending my third deck soon. I did get a strange response from them, suggesting I supply a more secure address to send it to. I had to point out that seeing as my previous 2 decks hadn’t left the local depot, the delivery address wasn’t really the problem.

Seemed a bit odd to me, it is almost as if they weren’t really reading the information provided.

Keeping my fingers crossed.
