I keep reading statements like that and it makes me wonder how true it is. All I can refer to is my own behaviour/feelings - and I would have slapped £8.99 down on the table in less than a heartbeat for a more trustworthy 48hr delivery service, no question. It's such a tiny fraction of the purchase price for what is in reality a luxury item that it would make sense if Evri are the cheap alternative.
I would say luck has a lot to do with it. EVRI delivered mine in <48 hours. In fact, not really had anything too negative to say anything about them. Obviously, ♥♥♥♥ happens and other experiences will differ. Though I would also say this would be the same for DPD or others too
I bought some books off ebay that took 3 weeks to turn up. When they arrived I found that the seller had shipped them in an old laptop box that had been ripped open and resealed. Evri definitely have a problem with opportunistic theft, and the high resale value of the steam deck makes for a tempting target.
My 3rd Deck is currently making its way to the UK, straight into the tender mercy of Evri. I've tried sending a message to Evri with the CEO copied in essentially begging them not to steal the 3rd Deck. I think they've probably had their fair share, to be honest.
I have no expectations.
Interestingly the previous two dispatched were overnight services with a TO1Q tracking number. This one is down as a 48 hour delivery with a T033W tracking number. I don't know what this change means, maybe I'm grasping at straws to think they've sent it via a different depot....
I was out of the country and I diverted my parcel to a parcelshop days before it was handed to a courier. Instead of doing that the EVRI driver just dumped the parcel on my front porch and took a picture (they are supposed to try and deliver it 3 times before they do that, excluding the fact that he wasn't even supposed to deliver it there). The box was also a bit dented in a corner.
I had a friend of mine go into my appartment building and pick up my parcel and drop it at my desk at work. This ♥♥♥♥ is ridiculous. If none of my friends would have answered that parcel would probably be stolen by now.
I find it ridiculous that no one is willing to look into this. I tried to reach out to game journalists but guess what, no one cares. We'd need this to trend a bit and it should be possible since people hate Evri, but I guess it won't happen until it happens to someone who has enough reach.
I would 100% go for it cause there business need's to be aware they have a major issue with lost of high priced items and stolen goods. I Still need to wait on a reply from steam atm.
Definitely worth telling him, even better if we all start sending them messages.
