No sound/controller input gamecube emulation
I've installed emudeck and have a few GC games. Whenever I go to play one, I cannot get past the Start menu because i cannot seem to get the Deck controls to work. I've tried playing with the controls for each individual game in SteamOS and with Dolphin but cannot get it to work. There is also no audio. Has anyone else had this issue?

Did you also run Steam Rom Manager to add them into your Steam library?

Try to go back into desktop mode, then open Dolphin emulator and close it. Then re-run the EmuDeck update application, and then when prompted run Steam Rom Manager again and follow the directions on the EmuDeck site.

EmuDeck should already configure the configurations/settings for Dolphin to have the inputs mapped to the standard Xinput/Controller inputs that will be defaulted to in Steam Input.

I'm not sure what went wrong the first time I installed it, but re-running and installing it like you said worked! I was confused because I know it's supposed to work out the box and I felt like I was having to manually figure everything out. Thank you!!

No problem, glad you got it working.

In my opinion they should update their installation process and/or the installation guide. Some of the emulators will not have generated their configuration files until after they are first opened (For example Dolphin, PCSX2, and Yuzu). This ends up resulting in EmuDeck writing the file and then when the emulator is first opened it regenerates the config file thus wiping out the configurations that EmuDeck made.

The process I recommend is as follows:

  1. Install desired emulators from Discover store
  2. Launch each emulator once and then close it
  3. Run the EmuDeck installer and select the option to use the exiting installed emulators
  4. Once installed and directories are setup exit the EmuDeck installer
  5. Copy over your roms to their correct locations for each emulator
  6. Run Steam Rom Manager and let it download the artwork for your emulators and roms, then apply to update your Steam library
  7. Reboot into game mode and launch your roms via Steam
