Stero 3D Works on Steam Deck

I was one of those who loved playing games in 3D, enjoyed it far better than the current VR offerings. I played a couple of enjoyable VR games, but I get the worst case of nausea imaginable from several games, and it can linger for hours. But I can throw on some glasses, and play a game for hours on end without any problem. I was a huge fan of HelixMod back in the day, in fact have all of the mods I downloaded from them over the years still in several locations.

So, when I got the Steam Deck, while understanding fully it was not capable of 3D natively, but what if it was connected to a 3D monitor/TV. Well, just so happens I have one of those, the TV I am currently using is a Samsung 1080P 3D TV, and my glasses still work.

Just like the Xbox One, and some games on PS4, some games no longer allow you to change the 3D settings, in some cases having removed the option from the menus entirely. But, some haven't, as is the case with Crysis 3. I installed it, and immediately set it to sidexside 3D (not the best option, but hey, it's 3d) Hoozah! We're cooking with gas, worked perfectly well.

I doubt the majority of my HelixMod collection will work, as most of those were based on Nvidia 3D Vision. But, we now know that 3D is capable on the Deck, so us 3D lovers now have hope that we might be able to play at least some games in 3D, given we still have the equipment for doing so. I know that HelixMod was a really popular site back in the day, so I thought I'd pass this on for the rest of the 3D dinosaurs amongst us.

You're thinking of Anaglyph (blue and red glasses) 3D. Stereo 3D is entirely different, and yeah, unfortunately it does require a certain TV/monitor and compatible glasses. If you have never tried it, I highly recommend giving it a go if you can find someone with a 3D TV/monitor and the compatible glasses. Like VR, it isn't for everyone, but there are many like me who really enjoyed the technology. Sadly, because not enough people enjoyed it as much as I do, it fell off the face of the Earth.

so it works, I still have a 3d tv and glasses, do you have to do anything special to the deck to do it? also what games have you tried on deck in stereoscopic 3d?

As a 3D fan myself, I'd recommend using Depth3D on reshade,
