Hold at FedEx?

Has anyone tried having the steam deck held at a FedEx facility? I don't want mine to be stolen by a porch pirate while I'm at work and am unsure of I can get off early. Also don't have anyone I can send it to who will be home. Would prefer if possible for it to be held by FedEx for pickup.

Send it to your work address. Trust that your co-workers won't open it for you.

I noticed on the Fed Ex tracking that it stated additional delivery options were not available. Further, it seems Fed Ex ignores any Vacation Hold you put in to the Fed Ex site (even with a Fed Ex account). I work at a remote facility that has dormitories for multi-day work, and luckily I had a friend swing by to put it in my house for me since Fed Ex ignored the vacation hold I put in days before it even shipped. So it's likely you will have to cross your fingers since it sounds like you won't have anyone to get it and hold it for you.

Sometimes they will hold if you have an account with them, also depends on if they shipped needing an adult signature or not. They did not for mine and just left it at the mail room. Did not even try to knock on my door and i was home.

Well that's disappointing, guess ill be sick on my delivery day lol.

If they haven't shipped it yet then pick UPS Store or Fedex Store and have them hold it for you for pickup. Talk to them first so you can work out if there's a cost, which they usually do. If its already shipped then its dicey on changing the delivery location. Its easier for the shipper to rearrange shipments compared to the recipient.

FedEx allows people to send a request to have your package sent to a Walgreens, or Dollar General for pickup. Just gotta have your tracking number & a ID to receive it, and the location you pick can hold it for 7 days. just go to FedEx's website for instructions.
