Report a translation problem
I’d try and reboot first
Then maybe try Beta channel update
Then go back to stable before I’d do a reformat
Last resort reformat,
Report it to steam first too
It Could be a known issue with a fix due?
Really strange because i did try that slider a few days ago when i first encountered the problem and was running beta as well then. But decided to switch to stable once it got the 40hz setting. But problem persisted..
Didnt even considerer trying watts slider again as it didnt work before.. Maybe they changed something with TDP that didnt properly update until i actually did a change on Watts slider..
In any case back on stable again now and seems to work properly now. Just glad i didnt have to try a full reset..
Simply changing the watts to 14 fixes it
Then I can put it back to 15 and its fine
(on stable only)
Nice find, Thanks for sharing the solution!
Must be some bug
I've had this exact problem for a few days now (which I've never noticed before or which appeared with an update). It only happens when I activate the TDP limiter when I first launch a game and it's set to 15, and if I move the slider the problem disappears and doesn't come back until I restart the SD.
It's not the most annoying problem, because I often don't set the limit to 15, but if there's a suspicion of a hardware problem, it'd be nice to know about it while it's still under warranty, but I'd like to avoid RMA as I'm in Europe...
EDIT : I tried to update to 3.5 main channel the issue is still there, reset the APU only "fixed" the problem until I restarted the SD again and it's back.
As soon as I use the TDP limiter, any game drops to unplayable fps rates.
Yet no matter how often I move the slider and turn it off and back on again, I get like 20 fps at max in that mode.
Are the GPU and CPU mhz frequencies locked to a specific frequency, such as 200, 399 or 1399mhz when you have this bug?
When I have the bug by enabling TDP for the first time at 15w, the GPU goes to 200mhz and the CPU to 399mhz, making a huge drop in performance in any game, until I move the slider then it goes back to normal.
