Car chargers
Hi,

I'm after a car charger that will support charging the steam deck. I don't really intend on using it out in public just during long car journeys, I've found some 45w type c pd chargers on Amazon for £10-£15, but I'm not sure how reliable they are as in I don't want my deck to get some battery illnesses. I do have a power bank but don't know where that is and don't really want to lug that around as the car charger will double up for what it's intended for e.g charging our phones etc. If anyone could provide me with a link I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you in advance

As long as it outputs 15v & 3amps, it’ll charge.
Can’t comment on quality.
I’ve been using Sabrent 63w one from amazon (uk) £15, had it about a year, working fine so far.

Are you using PD (usb c) or QC (usb 3.0)? From what I see, only the PD delivers 15v 3A.

you won't get 15V from a car socket which only goes up to 12v

False. Check your socket voltage with voltmeter when engine are on, first.
12V charger that has 15V will never rely on elevated voltage from the alternator for its output. those chargers have boost circuit inside, which is the correct approach for the problem.

Exactly, some charges are better at investing or boosting to the higher voltages etc.
