That's when the carrier doesn't have it scanned into their system and has updated the tracking and/or hasn't sent the update to Valve so they can change the status.
Perfectly normal. Mine took 2.5 days (Monday afternoon - Wednesday night) for FedEx to update it in their system. Anything over the weekend may take longer to update.

I haven't even gotten my email to purchase.... Kinda ticked off while I see YouTube influencers playing on theirs.

Just want to post this once because this thread made note of something I'm experiencing also. I'm just frustrated, more so when I have a trip next week probably not going to see this thing for weeks more. I'm not going to post this everywhere in every thread, just that this thread is curious as I am. Posting and moving on.....

I'm still stuck on 'Shipping soon' as well waiting for it to jump into the next stage. At least give me a tracking number with an estimated date so I can see when it shall arrive. The longer it takes the more likely I won't be seeing this Steam Deck until August 3rd. Maybe a porch pirate shall steal it on me.

June 30th I finally got the purchase e-mail and paid it the same day. Still waiting.

I know how you feel. I had to watch Danny Choo (anime and now a doll influencer) constantly show off his Steam Deck while I have to wind up my anxiety waiting for it to ship. I get it, they had a July 4th celebration. I understand. You can leave the tracking number hanging... Just let me know the estimated date of arrival.

I've also seen people mention they do everything Wednesday, while also seeing people have had their Steam Decks release on July 3rd (on a Sunday; Pre American Celebrations).

Dude.... I'd have patience, it's just the small things in life need to be respected and a trip to go on. If it wasn't for my trip I'd just be doing other things more patiently. I'm being as patient as I possibly can. I'm trying to even have games distract me. Watch anime. I'm even watching Caspersight on Youtube dealing with horror and the supernatural. I'm trying to have things in my workplace distract me as much as possible while checking my phone for a tracking info to be finally sent so I can get an ETA.

Playing Lego Star Wars on his Steam Deck, something I desire to do. Even knowing full well the game is a broken mess, yet when it works its a fun game.

I'm based in UK, and similarly to above, got the email and paid on 30th. Still stuck in "shipping soon", have a few days off next week so really hoping it gets there before then.

Yup, now Wednesday stuck on 'Shipping soon'. I may not end up using it on my travels thanks to how slowly it's going. Rip.

Contacted Steam support, as suggested in the Q3 Email thread. If it's been a week it was suggested to contact support with the other person getting theirs. Im 256 us, theyre 256 uk. I've waited roughly a week, give or take. Only antsy because of my trip.

Sent them a ticket asking if in limbo, and if can get by July 13. We'll see if I'm assisted or if it screws things up worse. Let's see what happens. Even my coworkers found this weird how long I'm waiting.

Steam support, give me your wise wisdom. Sorry for pestering you guys though. Longer it takes worse my situation gets.

Wednesday day/night is when it updates, usually. I don't know why but that's what I've seen in my own experience with it and many others since release.

May be coincidental, I however got my tracking number now after 40 min since poking customer service. May have happened organically, or manually. Either way, I'm happy it's now moving. I now need to see what date it's predicted to arrive. That's been my whole concern this whole time.

And is it me or is it harder waiting the 4 to 7 days then waiting 4 months

Probably, as now you actually paid in full for the Deck, only to now wait for the shipment to arrive.
