How to: KDE Connect (and other KDE Flatpaks) on Steam Deck
Go to desktop mode and open Konsole.

Enter:

flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo

flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists kdeapps --from https://distribute.kde.org/kdeapps.flatpakrepo

You can now find KDE Connect, and other KDE applications as flatpaks, in Discover (the blue shopping bag icon on the bottom bar)

Try using Warehouse (In Discover) for other Flatpak repos, but KDE Connect is already preinstalled

I am not using KDE so no Discover for me. I'm on Arch+Qtile and didn't want to install KDEConnect from the arch extra repo because it pulls in some deps I don't want. That's why I was looking for the Flatpak version. But I got it sorted now, thank you.

Any examples of why someone would want to do this?

I made this thread originally when KDE Connect wasn't part of SteamOS. It was included in an update, so now it isn't as relevant. I guess if you want KDE applications as Flatpaks, then this would work still.

As for KDE Connect on the deck, it's nice to have even if it only functions well in Desktop Mode.
