also lag using ps5 controller via bluetooth
edit: deck finally made it through boot up after a couple hours, dock is ok as well. Tried the workaround again and was able to use a newer generation xbox wireless adapter for an hour before that dongle stopped talking/pairing with controller. Using an older gen dongle with the same controller is working currently.
Would be great to connect all (let's say, 4) Xbox wireless controllers via the Xbox wireless adapter to the Deck (via the dock) to play couch coop/multiplayer games on the big screen with friends and family.
Off course bluetooth is already an option, but the experience would be much better if all possible lag is eliminated as much as possible, especially for competitive couch multiplayer games ;-)
Do we have any way of knowing if Valve is planning for this?
This is wrong. All XBONE controllers support both bluetooth and modified bluetooth (the proprietary standard you're talking about).

No it isn't, I have both generations of controllers. He is correct, the older ones can't use bluetooth.
I got the dongle in the steam dock USB port and the Deck hooked up to the Dock, then I turn on my Joypad by pressing the xbox logo button till it lights up, then I press both the button on the dongle and the one on the top of the pad. but still nothing happens.
I wonder if there's a software difference between the big dongle and the small one.
