Steam Deck: Blacklight Bleed
How many have this problem with the screen? Have you evaluated an RMA?

It would be an accentuated lighting on the dark scene of the screen. You can search YouTube for "Steam deck bleed" and you will find example.

Everyone has some backlight bleed. IPS suck at doing black. If it's noticeably bad like that pic someone posted recently, then yeah, you should RMA.

I don't think I will do RMA, if I see that Valve listen and improve the system, I will buy a 252 GB version I think it is a problem of the 512 versions.

It's an IPS screen not an OLED, IPS can have some light bleed
Depends how bad it is really,
you can either live with it, or RMA and hope for a better one.
But it'll never be like OLED.
Mine has some light bleed, but it's not terrible and not noticeable on bright games, just the dark scenes.

You're right, I really like Steam Deck, plus you can connect it to an external monitor. So far there are 2 things I want. A quality screen and an easily removable battery or system that increases the life over the years.

I have some minor light bleed more on top left and bottom right corners. Honestly I would not have noticed it if I didn't stumble upon this post. I'm not going to do a RMA you risk getting one worse. Like the previous post mentioned they all have this IPS is IPS no getting around it. This is a really good system being It's Valves 1st attempt at a handheld they definitely did there homework.

It's there, but not awful. Honestly the best I can say about the Deck's display is that it's "fine". Perfectly serviceable. It doesn't excel in any category, but it does the job and I have no real complaints about it.

When the screen is completly black i can see some but its never an issue or noticible when actually playing a game or watching a video.

Yes guys. I was curious, I am very satisfied with my steam deck.

My second 512gb deck was severe. Valve tried to tell me it was normal and that it's not visible during gameplay. Valve issued a refund today and I ordered a replacement.
