As long as you have Settings>Cloud>Enable Steam Cloud slider set to on. Also make sure the settings for the game (accessed on the game page, gear icon on the right) are correct for Cloud Saves and "General>Steam Cloud>Keep game saves in the Steam Cloud for XXX" is checked--Cloud Save should be seamless.
Just below "Last played/Playtime/Achievements", it should have a Steam Cloud status indicator. After you leave the match, just verify it is syncing or "Up to date". Hope that helps.
But the question here is if there is a way to manually force cloud sync for games that do support it. I KNOW this can be done in the Desktop interface of Steam, but could not find any way to do it on the Deck interface.
I'm having trouble getting my steamdeck to sync with my desktop. Both are online. Both have the Settings>Cloud>Enable Steam Cloud enabled turned on.
The only way I'm able to get it synced is a full reboot of steam on both devices.
Why not just add a feature? As a user, when I click the cloud sync status on any device it forces a sync between device and cloud.
