valve advertised how the deck uses steam os v3, and historically they have wanted to distance themselves from windows to avoid microsoft and typical shennanigans. thats why the original "steam machines" were promoted around "steam os".
so, even if you ignored the os was reworked for the deck, you could already know they were still going to use linux.
Also can confirm Deck is running SteamOS 3. witch is a version of arch linux
