Why does DMC V keep crashing if its verified?

Out of all the games I have played on my steam deck DMC V is the only verified ome that will consistently crash on me only a couple minutes into gameplay. Does this happen to anyone else?

Try to verify the files and then try other proton versions.

Check ProtonDB and see if an update may have messed with it.

I've tried running it on different versions of proton and the newest post on ProtonDB is from multiple weeks ago unfortunately

but also try launching the game from desktop mode and then pinpoint what is causing the issue. Is it thermal, it is a texture/map loading thing. Is it a specific skill. Is it a hard crash? soft crash? etc.

Unfortunately it seemingly does it at random during a level no specific trigger, thermals where always around 70 celsius so doubt its because of overheating

The game freezes for about a minute before kicking me back to the launch screen in my library

when it freezes, can you still use the steam controls/overlays?
are you running Steam stable or one of the beta branches?
are you online or offline?

Im unable to use the overlay when frozen and im currently on the stable build. Also running it online

so what do you do, wait until it kicks you out of the game and goes back to menu or restart it?

Have you tried playing it in desktop mode? did the same thing happen?

I have been playing it for 2 days without problems all at maximum 60FPS, with some frame drops on sequences that are not that heavy
