Using the Deck as a Steam Controller
Topic says it all: Is it possible to use the Deck as a regular Steam Controller without using software like VirtualHere? I'm thinking about one of those scenarios:

1. Use it on PC with the SC wireless dongle.
2. Use it on SteamLink like a SC.
3. Use it via Bluetooth.

I guess 1 and 2 are not possible since the Deck isn't using the transmission tech the SC is using, right?

Hooked it up via USBC Hub on my screen and could use the deck as Input.

I guess that would work too if you just "cast" it to a screen while using it as a controller.

Yeah, that works. You can also use the Deck as host and stream to the Steam Link while using the Deck as a controller at the same time (which is great for Couch Coop).
I sometimes user my desktop PC though to stream to the Steam Link in my living room. Would be cool to use the Deck simply as an additional Controller in that case.

I did this with Forza Horizon 5 via remote play/streaming

There was virtually no input lag and I really liked using the STEAM Deck controls for it(And I'm saying that as someone who uses a PS5 controller primarily). I was basically streaming the game from my PC to my steam deck via wifi but because of the unnoticable input lag I could play while looking at my computer screen and just use the steam deck as a controller that had a screen of the gameplay on it.

It sounds weird but it worked very well.

if you don.t mind sitting close to your display (TV) or have a hdmi port free on your monitor. just get a usbc to hdmi cable off amazon. I've done that a cpl of times.

I have a similar setup and had the same thought. It doesn't feel like it should be that hard to use it as a Bluetooth controller, but I can't seem to figure out how. I'm hoping they add this functionality at some point.

Bluetooth connectivity to my PC for use as a controller would be welcome. The 3.3.2 update released yesterday immediately broke the wifi, SMH. While I have to figure out how I am going to get updates now when it can no longer sustain a connection, BT would at least be there to maintain a controller connection.
