(Non-Steam Game) Diablo 2 and Diablo 3 Controller Support on Steam Deck
Hello, I have installed Diablo 2 Resurrected and Diablo 3 on Battle.net on my Steam Deck but it seems the starting cutscenes can't be skipped because the games do not recognize my Steam Deck as a controller.

D2R is fine after the first cutscene (it sort of seems to understand later on that it has a controller). For D3 I haven't checked because the initial cutscene just takes forever.

Does anyone know how to be able to skip the initial cutscene/make the game understand the Steam Deck is a controller? I tried to look for Community Layouts but I don't see any for Diablo games.

Sorry in advance for being such a noob and thanks for your time

Someone should already have made a controller config in steam input. Check Steam button > Controller Settings > Press A again > Press Up and hit A again to enter Community Layouts. Make your own if you don't see any, but there should be at least one since these are popular games.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

Is the Community Layouts interface dependent on the current active game, or is it general?

When I look for layouts while the game is on, I don't see anything useful. Maybe if I exit the game though... I'll try it, lol.

Thanks again

community layouts are control maps people have made and shared for each game

Have you tried touching the touchscreen or bringing up the on screen keyboard during the cutscene and pressing space or any other key?

Not sure if you ever figured it out, but, if you aren't already, you have to launch battle.net/Diablo through Steam as a non-Steam name for it to recognize the Steam Deck as a proper controller. I've launched WoW/FFXIV a few times without going through Steam a few times on accident and ran into the same issues.
