Index still sells for the same price as it did 3 years ago.
So no, I don't expect a price drop at all. Especially when it's already so cheap to begin with.
With a device that has a 6-12 month waiting list?
And one that’s way cheaper than any competitors, like Aya Neo or OneXplayer?
You’re having a laugh 😂
How long ago did PS5 & XSX come out? Have they dropped yet?
Even the last gen consoles are holding their price.
Demand is outweighing supply, the price won’t drop till sales stall.
It’s been a long time since consoles have dropped a lot in price, the latest big drop was Xbox360/PS3 gen, those dropped to £99 after they’d sold multiple of millions of units.
Steam Deck is already so cheap I felt like I was stealing mine when I paid 😂😂
I’d have payed double that and not batted an eye.
I’m hoping they bring out some more powerful/expensive versions.
What marketing laws?
imo the steam controller was also successful. it sold well enough that valve was already working in the steam controller v2 before the deck, and its likely they will bring it back at some point.
what actually failed were the "steam machines", because valved rushed the idea, and never made a proper pc that would be attractive to many people, and also steam os v1 wasnt very good. steam deck is "steam machines" v2.
about the original topic, i also dont think there can be a price drop, unless valve found a way to produce more units, faster, and at the same time improve the quality control. thats unlikely to happen, since the world is still locked in "varus-economics".
You won’t see a reduction in price for years. Look at the Index headset - has it ever seen a sale price?
