Actually, that's something I'm concerned about for when my Steam Deck arrives too. What length is the cable?

Buy a USB-C extender cable, anything that states upto 65w will do.

Is it not okay to use a regular extension cord? That's what I have been using. Now I'm worried.

It's around 170cm. I don't know how is not enough for some people.

Okay, great, that should be far more than I need for my setup. Thanks!

Simple, my chair isn’t near a plug socket

You could use an extension cable. Doesn't have to be USB-C, you can extend it at the other end that's usually plugged into the wall instead (my brain just won't let me remember the proper name, sorry). It's what I did anyway.

I doubt USB C spec allows extensions. just use an electrical extension cable instead of extending the USB.

Use a power extension lead to your socket, plug your Deck charger into that. I wouldn’t try to add a USB extender because you can’t guarantee quality of cable nor power drop with cheap cables.

I have been using a USB Type C extension with mine for over a month just fine.
