Some games don't run on Proton?

Hello friends,

I've bought and downloaded the game Devotion and added it as a non steam game... the problem Steam OS fails to load the .EXE file. I changed proton versions but no luck. Any ideas? Thanks

Yes, not all games are able to run through Proton. You can using GE Proton but there are plenty of games that just don't run through Proton for various reason.

if it doesnt run on steam deck, u either have to dual boot with windows installed or remote play from pc, thats the only solution, if it has a (\) that means no, a ? means untested but maybe, alot of (\) are mostly cause of denuvo or other anti cheat software builtin or it requires a constant online connection

Use Lutris or Bottles for non-Steam stuff, They're on the Discover Store in Desktop mode.

you can also add directly games installed in steam client for linux with lutris (rather than installing them through it). that will allow you to test more option to try to launch the game.

since i dont own a deck, i ignore if this could work (i have done this in a linux pc): with lutris you can also install the windows version of steam client. after installing it, you can use it to install games that didnt worked in the linux client to then try other launch and graphics settings. sometimes this helps.
