Steam Deck

Steam Deck

Steam Deck Stuck on logo, even during a reimage
My steam deck is stuck on the steam logo, cant even reimage the deck help!!!!!!!

So I was booting cyberpunk just to see the limits of the deck, I was curious. I then started the game (hit play from the title page) it crashed my deck. the deck made a noise then became unresponsive couldn't force quit the game. So after a bit I restarted the machine. Since then, no matter how long I wait it doesn't boot from any drive or any method. it will let me into the boot menu and the light is white when charging. the issue is once I start booting from any drive it becomes stuck on the logo and seems to freeze no matter what I do or how long I wait.

Did you try the tric posted here ...

Enter bios on power on (power + Vol+) with power supplier disconnected.
Within the BIOS, use the D-Pad to navigate and the A button to select.
Navigate to Setup Utility.
Navigate to the Power menu.
Select Battery storage mode.
Select Yes to confirm.
Your Steam Deck should now power down into storage mode.

After this, connect power supplier and power on the deck.

In my case it booted up correctly.

I know it's weird, bur actually worked.

Good luck!

Yeah cyberpunk locked me in a boot loop too, they should really re address the compatibility rating.
Hey OP, how did you fix it?

In the end it turns out it was something much deeper was happening with my steam deck. It failed all attempts to restore it/ reimagine it with steam os. I even tried flashing windows onto it and other Linux profiles. Nothing. Let the battery die then attempted everything again. Nothing. I swapped all the equipment that I was using and tried again. Tried booting from a different drive, nothing. I spent days trying different things, nothing. i tried what i felt was everything to get it to go past a boot screen. In the end i sent it in and they sent me a replacement. I think mine must have been a deeper issue than what other people experienced. I think cyberpunk 2077 was merely the game that was hard enough to run that it triggered the issue. Or maybe it was a ticking bomb from the moment I got it and it just happened when I played cyberpunk.

I tried the bios thing as well and it didn’t work for me. It was 4 weeks of reading steam pages and trying different things. However I hope that the posted solution works for everyone else with a similar issue to mine. It really sucks to spend hours trying everything you can to find a solution and nothing working.
