Long boot time?
Anyone else experiencing a very long boot time?
Since the last update I'm getting around 1 ~ 1.5 minutes.
I'm running on the Preview branch (SteamOS 3.3.2).

No, have you tried it without the SD card

Have you checked if this is a preview issue?

If you are on beta version then you are expected to see issues.

That's why it's called beta. If you want more stable usage then stay on stable channel.

I'm also having longer boot times on the latest Beta. Deck will sit on the logo for exactly 75s before making a beep and booting completely about 20sec later. This happens with or without SD card.
It is an software issue with latest beta since I booted multiple OS on Stream Deck and all of them boot fine.

It's not uncommon for developers to release versions of software with debugging enabled to help troubleshoot issues in their non-stable releases. The downside to this is that it's slower and most noticed on boot times.

Yes, it does happen with or without SD.

I'm posting here to see if more people on the Preview have the same issue.

Well, look who we have here Sherlock Holmes.

Do you think I got on the preview branch (and stayed there) by mistake?
If no one report problems how can the developers fix issues?
I do agree, if I wanted a more "stable usage" I would have stayed on the stable branch.

BTW: it is not called Beta, it is called Preview in this case.

Yes, it may be that the kernel is awaiting a debugger to connect.
"dmesg" does not have any messages, but it does have a long gap starting around second 7, so I think it is something on the kernel.

Facing the same issue here. I had to factory reset, as it was not booting at all in the beginning, stuck in a hell loop of the screen turning on without any light & while I could see a faint outline of the Steam menu as it usually launches, no function possible.
After the factory reset, it does boot after pressing the button, yet takes an average of 2 minutes, with maximum being 3 minutes and 12 seconds so far.

Unsure what is causing this - as after FR I have not installed anything, just monitored the booting time. Fairly unsure if this is update related or a fault, as the device was delivered only last week to me.

Same issue here, happens after latest update to preview branch. Going to take this as a sign to chill and wait for display options to end up on stable branch.
