Desktop Mode - Unusable download speeds

Hi Guys,

I'm hoping someone will be able to help.

My brother has been having significant issues downloading ANYTHING via desktop mode. The issue was noticed when trying to download Proton via ProtonUp-QT.

I have my own Steam Deck and have had no issues at all, but for some reason his download speeds are unbearable (In Desktop Mode) despite having 1Gig Internet. Gaming mode seems to be fine, games are downloading as a normal rate.

So far we've tried:

- A Factory Reset
- Updating DNS settings 1.1.1.1 , 4.4.4.4 , 9.9.9.9
- Router Restart (Numerous)
- Turning on Developer Mode - Wifi Power management options

Nothing seems to be working.

Trying to avoid going down the RMA route so any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it is related to specifically desktop mode speed, go to gaming mode and hit STEAM button to bring up left panel and do the following:

Settings. System. Enable Developer Mode.

THAN

Back into SETTINGS

SCROLL DOWN BOTTOM TO DEVELOPER TAB

DISABLE - Enable POWER WIFI POWER MANAGEMENT.

Return desktop. Should clear up speed issue.

Disabled WiFi power management still unable to get more than 200kib/s anyone else got any ideas
