is it true steam deck cant run gta 5 offline?

when you go to gta 5 on steam is says playable and then says you need a constant internet connection I got gta 5 free on epic game store so anyone try running it off epic if you can run it without a internet connection from heroic game launcher? I just bought my steam deck and waiting on it

it depends on the dev's DRM choice. Considering its rockstar i wouldn't be shocked if it needs always online or frequent check ins.

Rockstar launcher requires and internet connection.

just tested it and offline mode is working just fine on Windows on the deck . believe its an one time online requirement deal with GTA V then once you have a local save file established on your system you can play offline mode.

i assume its the same for steam OS but bit of a moot point as grand theft auto V on linux is currently broken since last dlc update with a nasty texture loading bug

yea whenever i try to boot up gta 5 on my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wifi it doesnt want to load because im not giving rockstar’s game launcher fast enough wifi

Yep, it requires internet. Sadly Valve happily allows this 3rd party launcher nonsense.

Not a bad choice imo. It's okay to use other stores next to steam. Shocking, I know.
