Steam "DOCK" suggestions
Hello everyone! this is my first post here.
I wanted to suggest to the GLaDOS office who I think are taking care of the hardware part of a future dock station, if it is possible to steal some chips from the bitcoin miners, and put them inside this dock, so as not to have to explode the deck as soon as it boot up a future new chapter in the gta series.
And last but not least.........
Please Valve, optimize the deck for tv connection.
thank you

We need another gpu to use the deck on the tv/monitor , and for make the life more longer of this console and my opinion is to put this on the future dock.

You can purchase your own external GPU and dock for it yourself, right now even. Valve is not going to sell a GPU or GPU dock.

Valve wouldn't make enough selling GPUs.

Well in this case there are 2 solutions, one is that valve sell us one more efficient for the next games demanding specs, or this console go in 2 years to play only today games.

there is always an inflow of new games that are less demanding than AAA games of a previous gen...

of course the Deck's internal GPU is limited, but it is actually quite mighty for current standards, which means it will not handle the mos demanding new-gen games (nor the current-gen most demanding ones), but it does handle most of Valve's catalog, so it won't suddenly become useless

there are already some external GPU casings which the Deck can leverage, but this will be a very niche of a niche market...

it's not that it wouldn't be nice to have... it's just that it's probably hard to justify Valve spending a truckload of R&D on it instead if what they already did: shipping a full linux distro with full support for all sorts of 3rd-party eGPU hardware that Linux already supports

and shape/size-wise it wouldn't just be a Dock with a builtin GPU... it would probably need to be a big eGPU with dock capabilities, because IMHO a small eGPU wouldn't really deliver a lot more bang than the Deck itself despite costing a fortune (any GPU chip now costs a fortune due to Mr. Bitcoin minions)

The real deal is that the type c on the deck is not a thunderbolt port so ......The only way i know is to open the case and use the m2 port.
If there is another solution link me.
I'm seriously thinking to crowfound this idea ( I'm not serious 🤣)

In all the way.....
My suggestion it's a sarcastic request for Valve, to make us really love this newborn baby, and not let it grow old in very short time, but I Know, the hardware limitations make this appening. So i put on my piggy bank from today the money to buy the next steam deck, because i'm an incurable 43 old game lover..... Peace ✌️

From GabeN himself:
Oh, yeah. Very much so.

We thought the entry price was going to be the critical factor [for Deck's success] but it turns out that far and away the most popular SKU is the most expensive one. That's an example of us being a little surprised by what our customers are telling us. They're basically saying, 'We would like an even more expensive version of this', in terms of horsepower capabilities or whatever. You know, that's why we always love to get something out there and ship it. Because we learn a lot from that, and it helps frame our thinking for Steam Deck 2.
