Steam Deck Windows 10 Trigger click
I've seen this problem with desktop mode and the solution i saw there is to restart steam in that instance and it works again

the problem is with windows. usually you can use the right trigger to click because im pretty sure the tap click doesnt work on the trackpad in windows. but after steam starts, something happens and the trigger click stops working, the trackpad still works tho. forcing a touch screen or usb mouse to be the only way to click. anyone have a fix for this?

1. Open Big Picture Mode
2. Settings
3. Base Configuration
4. Desktop Configuration

From there you can edit the configuration. If you press X button you can browse other configurations.

Not sure if you figured this out but I was messing around with it and had the same issue as you. Mine stayed after removing my windows sd card and booting up into steam os then shutting down the steam deck and booting back into windows. Once i did that all my steam settings were the same. Also whenever you’re in windows and Steam is not opened the triggers will still work as clicks. Once steam is opened and your logged in the triggers get replaced with the trackpad clicks. You’ll notice that the left trackpad will work on the desktop.

If you already figured this out then sorry lol.

I use Windows 11 and what sort of fixed it for me is using the beta version of steam. This gives the good steam deck UI on Windows. You can go into the controller settings and fix it there.
