Steam Deck purchase problem
Hi all. I have a big problem. I have received the mail today that I can finally buy my steam deck, I have tried to buy it in the iOS app but not a single payment method has been accepted (I guess all credit cards want a confirmation code and the app does not support this...), so I tried to buy the deck now from home in the steam windows app BUT my reservation stlot is gone and the shopping carts do not sync. So I still have the steam deck in the iOS shopping cart and wonder if I can remove it from the cart without loosing the reservation rights?? This would be a nightmare.......

You have 3 days until the reservation gets canceled.

So I have removed it from the iOS cart and it has been instantly available again in the windows app. But now I have this "you have made too many attempts" message, seems I need to wait a bit....

Yeah, it's just an automatic trigger to prevent bot buying.

Might be an idea to give Steam Support a chat and see if they can help speed things up for you :p

Do not remove it from the cart.
Use a browser and wait about an hour and try again.

Support can not speed things up and the cooldown will be over long before they even reply.

I would still message them just to start a "record" of trying and failing to complete the purchase so they don't get skipped over.

As long as the account alert is still active and stating you can complete the purchase by clicking the button, you are fine.

Oh I have mine but a paper trail can make things easier if the worst does happen.

Everything is digitally signed. Valve can easily check the logs and find out everything you clicked on.

Well aware of all of that and if you just want to be correct then just move on and pretend that everything you say is correct and nobody else will ever need to say anything about this ever.

The issue could be their bank or credit card company that may hold the funds longer than the time Valve gives them to complete the purchase and creating a ticket that already has someone attached to it can save time in the long run.

Finally could place the order through the windows app. As expected Amex has been sending an sms TAN and steam iOS does not seem to support this.
