Touch pads and radial/touch menu - icons and labels missing?

I looked really hard, but I can't seem to find the option to add an icon or at least custom text for touch and radial menu options like I can for the Steam Controller. Is this still coming? Or is it somewhere hidden and I just can't find it?

It's missing.

I've heard from other people who contacted Valve that they were told it is supposed to be brought back with a future update. I haven't seen anything official though.

The option still exists in BPM in desktop mode, but currently it seems that only the stock icons work. I haven't had any luck getting custom icons to appear in game mode yet, unfortunately.

Only icons and labels? My entire touch menu has disappeared. I only had Function keys e.g. F1 - F4 and a few keys but none can be seen now.

this thread is from 2022...

are you sure your issue is the same?

it might just be a broken controller layout instead of missing custom icons and custom text

you should check the controller mapping configs to see if it's set up correctly
