Give some examples of what you considered to be a real RTS. Maybe there is already a video out there.

I've seen videos of people running the C&C Remastered collection with a mouse and C&C Generals but only trough windows and with a lot of work (even then the game is still too old and quite buggy on newer platforms, STILL VERY GOOD THOUGH!).
Unless you mean the latest RTS trend like "They Are Billions" and the recent ones based on space and the thing with the giant swarms, havent seen anyone do those (yet). I also wont be testing those myself as I own none, C&C is one I will try with the deck itself and without a mouse, maybe i'll add planetary annihilation and supreme commander to the test too.

if you want to play C&C on linux you can use the free and opensource alternative game engine OpenRA, instead of running the game via Wine or Proton... it will use the original game resources, so you still need the game, and will have a small couple of rough edges yet but on the other hand several things are modernized (support for more operational systems, screen resolutions, newer inputs and outputs, etc)
