I hope it's just that, but it has been a day since the package got supposedly dispatched. Wouldn't it make more sense and cause less confusion to log the package as "not yet received" instead of claiming it as non-existent once the tracking number is created should it not yet be in possession of the parcel service?
For now, I'll just wait and see.
Example my last delivery I got was being delivered by Fastway but on their site they didn't track the number until it arrived in Ireland for me (kept saying the number didn't exist on their system). But all in one tracking sites tracked the parcel from point of it being dispatched.
For me it didnt get an Update until it was already delivered.
Valve creates the label and waits for the carrier to pick it up. Until then, the tracking number is doesn't exist except on the label.
Even FedEx did this with mine and the real-time updates after it was picked up weren't in real-time until the delivery. All updates were at least hours behind with the initial pick up from Valve they made was 18 hours after it happened.
If I clicked the link in the GLS email (which is basically the API call) I got an HTML 503 error, which means that the service is unavailable AKA Server / Back End is offline.
If I just typed in the number in the tracking searchbar it just said that they can't find the package and it looked like it was gone from the system.
Best thing you can do is type in gls tracking in google, and click on the one for your country, fill in the tracking code, and everything else that is needed in your country to prevent data leaks.
In the netherlands you have to provide the postal code+tracking number in the dutch gls tracking site.
It just took them a while and tracking now finally works. The S in GLS doesn't stand for speed, I guess.
I hope it arrives securely and on time.
Thanks for the hint. I just tried and at least the Dutch GLS side recognizes the tracking number and gives me the current status. When I try to track it on the destination’s country GLS website (in my case Germany) it doesn’t give any information.
UPDATE: Valve Refunded the 679.- Finally - lets wait and see how long it takes to arrive into my account again. Worst experience ever.
