Anyone played Elden Ring on Steam Deck? How's it going with performance?
Title really says it all...

Was curious how people feel the performance and quality is while playing Elden Ring. In particular, I'd really like to hear from people who have Elden Ring on PC or consoles AND have it on the Steam Deck.

For me, I'm most pumped to be able to play Elden Ring on Steam Deck while traveling and what not. Is it good?

So, my first experience on Elden Ring was on "the Deck". Therefore, I can't really compare it to XBSX or PS5, or PC. My GTX1070-equipped PC only performs at about XB1X level anyway, and is no match for XBSX / PS5, let alone the latest and greatest PC builds.

But I can tell you that it is a pretty solid 30fps at 1280x800 even with literally every other setting that the deck supports cranked all the way to the max. And I can also say that while resolutions that low may not look great on a large 4K TV, but on the small, 1:1 res / pixel match display, it looks nice and crispy. Also, Steam Deck controls work perfect out of the box. No ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around required!

On balance, I consider it to be a perfectly decent experience on the Deck. We're not talking RTX3090, of course. But I have no objections. And hooked up to a larger monitor, AMD FSR should allow you to bump the resolution with minimal additional system load. So, 1080p, I'd think, would be no trouble at all! :-)

Happy gaming! :-)

That sounds good to me. If the performance is stable at 30 and at that resolution, on such a small screen, I think it'll serve my purposes on trips and such.

Thanks for taking the time to respond btw.

If anyone else has firsthand experience with the game on the Deck, please feel free to state your impressions as well. I'd love to hear them.

I have a locked 40 fps, just had to drop the resolution slightly with a mixture of mid to low settings with high textures. i also unlock frames in dungeons and get a locked 60fps. Pretty happy with the performance lol. make sure you have cryoutilities too

I personally finished EL 3 times now and I am currently playing it with mods on Steam Deck.
