Folklore (PS3) on Steam Deck?
Title of the thread says it all. For any Deck owners running the PS3 emulator can you test to see if Folklore is playable? And by playable I don't mean JUST if the game runs well, but if you can actually complete the game, since it's a REQUIREMENT to use motion controls in this specific game, as it's a core mechanic, otherwise you can't play or beat the game without it. I know the Steam Deck has gyro controls, and so that's what prompts my question. Hopefully someone out there has an answer as I'd love to go back and play that underrated classic.

Hey there. I have a deck and have tried Folklore, and at this time, it is not working. RPCS3 cannot currently be configured to accept the Steam Deck's motion/gyro controls, so you cannot capture fae folk.
You also cannot reasign or spoof a controller flick to a button press.
So, unfortunately, for now Folklore is unplayable on the Steam Deck.

A sad day truly. Folklore as such a joy to play and it sucks that I have to basically get a PS3 controller to play it, but hopefully in the future something can happen. Thank you for your service! I ended up learning this on my own too but it's nice to have a reply to choose as an answer for this thread.

I too wanted to finally play this amazing game but hit a brick wall, tried all the different settings on rpcs3 and steam ctrl settings, no joy 😢

You can connect a dual shock 3 to steam deck and play it that way.

Good news. If you’re emulating the game on RPCS3, you can just activate a built-in patch for Folklore that allows you to bypass the use of the gyro. On the Deck, just pressing R1 does the trick…no need to tilt or worry about gyro. Tried it after the patch and it works great.

I'll have to give it a try whenever I get access to my Deck again but thank you for that it would be a dream to enjoy this game again like I did in the past!

Yeah, for sure! Seems to be working well with the patch so far but I’m pretty early in the game, with combat light. Not sure how well it works when things get crazy but a good sign so far! The link below goes into a little more detail.
