Touchscreen keyboard on desktop mode missing touches?
Works fine in steam gaming mode.

When using the keyboard on desktop mode I can feel the vibrations when i click letters, but like 10% of the time it just doesn't actually register a letter where I'm typing. Have to stop and click the same letter, feeling the vibration each time, until it actually shows the letter having been pressed.

Any ideas?

Slow on screen typing? Wow, that is not very promising. :[
I've noticed this too. It clearly vibrates and presses the on-screen key, but doesn't print the letter. Slow and deliberate typing results in better results. No problems using the "dual trackpad" style of typing though.

that i made before seeing this.

For me its about 40-60% of the time when using the touchscreen
I would rather have accuracy of what is typed than haptic feedback.
The virtual keyboard is the most buggy thing in the steam deck as of right now I believe.
I’ve crashed twice trying to open it.
Crash meaning I’ve literally had to delete all of my user data and reimage the steam deck… twice.
for me its more like 30-40%, even the spacebar and backspace
I'm having the same issue since the latest update. It was fine for me before.
Im sending mine back hopefully. It plays games well but the desktop is a joke. Keyboards non functional. Not a $700 Game machine IMO

no. this is about the virtual keyboard missing input < 25% of the time. you know, using the Deck when you're sitting on the couch. strapping a bluetooth keyboard to my wrist is not gonna happen lol

any how, you can install Corekeyboard app from the discovery store as a temp fix to this OSK bug that is quite annoying.
I just got my Deck, and I have the same issue. Around 30% of inputs don't put anything on screen. Only in desktop mode. In gaming mode, it works great.

It seems to be worst when using the touchscreen. Using the trackpads works. But it's really awkward.
I am also experiencing that one. Using the two joysticks seems to work though, but it needs some getting used to.
yh ive also noticed this. it just happens with touch, for those actually typing properly it is fine

I know what it's about. A physical keyboard will fix this issue lol
